Initial Setup

Note: This method requires access to your Mac.

To sync your iPhone passwords with your Mac, follow these steps:

1. On your iPhone, go to Settings -> iCloud -> Keychain.

2. Ensure iCloud Keychain is enabled. If not, enable it.

3. In Settings, go to Personal Hotspot and activate it.

4. Connect your Mac to your iPhone’s Personal Hotspot from the WiFi menu.

6. Your iPhone’s passwords will now sync with your Mac’s Keychain. Almost done.

View Saved Passwords on Mac

Your iPhone has played its part, now your Mac is needed to retrieve the WiFi password. Follow these steps:

1. Launch Keychain Access.

  • Launch Spotlight and type Keychain Access.
  • Alternatively, open Launchpad; Keychain Access is located in the “Other” folder.

2. Search for the WiFi network you need the password for. For example, I’m using my home network “Lord Of The Pings”.

3. Double-click the WiFi network name in Keychain Access; this opens a window with network details. Check Show Password.

5. Provide Administrator Credentials when prompted. Enter them and click Allow.

6. Now you can see the password.
