Android 14 Compatible Devices and Release Timeline

Android 14 Compatible Devices and Release Timeline

Stable Android 14 landed on supported Pixels and the Pixel 8 series is the first with Android 14 built-in. Now other manufacturers like Samsung, OnePlus, and Xiaomi are following suit. Their Android 14 versions are imminent! If you own an older expensive device or a recent mid-range one, Android 14 may be on its way. Here’s the list of Android 14 compatible devices and release timelines:

Google Pixel

All Google Pixel devices from Pixel 4a 5G to Pixel 7, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet are now updated to Android 14. Pixel devices were entitled to three years of major software updates and two years of security patches. With the Pixel 8 series, Google extends support to 7 years, surpassing Samsung and Apple, which currently offer 4 and 6 years of major updates.

  • Pixel 4a 5G
  • Pixel 5
  • Pixel 5a
  • Pixel 6 / 6 Pro
  • Pixel 6a
  • Pixel 7 / 7 Pro
  • Pixel 7a
  • Pixel Fold
  • Pixel Tablet

If you hope for Pixel 4a to receive Android 14, don’t count on it, as it has reached its update limit. Nevertheless, we’d appreciate if Google could grant the Pixel 4a one final update, considering its popularity as a budget device. Originally scheduled for September, the Android 14 update for Pixels was postponed to October due to vulnerabilities.

Samsung Galaxy Devices

Samsung excels in software updates, with the next Android update slated to arrive sooner than those from most manufacturers. Currently, Samsung is in the final stages of testing the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 Beta on its latest smartphones. Expect the update to roll out for Samsung flagships by the end of this month or early November. Upper mid-range flagships may receive it in November or December, while budget devices could see it in Q1 or Q2 of 2024.

The company recently announced an enhanced update policy for flagships, guaranteeing four updates starting with the Xiaomi 13 series.

Below are the Xiaomi devices expected to receive Android 14. Please note that this list is unofficial and is based on past updates and Xiaomi’s update commitment. The Android 14 update is anticipated to roll out to flagships within the next two months, potentially in October or November.
