PUBG Mobile, a gaming sensation, is widely recognized, with many of us dedicating significant time to securing that coveted Chicken Dinner. Continuously introducing new content, such as the zombie mode or other war modes, PUBG Mobile effectively sustains player engagement. These modes particularly appeal to players seeking intense thrills without committing to lengthy battle royale matches.
Aligned with PUBG Mobile’s strategy, a new update, build 0.13.0, has been released, introducing a fresh game mode. Following the conclusion of Call of Duty Mobile’s closed beta in India, PUBG Mobile introduces a Team Deathmatch mode, offering users a novel gaming experience. Having tested the Team Deathmatch mode, here are my initial impressions:
Exploring PUBG Mobile Team Deathmatch
In this mode, available within the EvoGround section alongside Zombie: Darkest Night and Survive Till Dawn modes, players can engage in uninterrupted gameplay. Both third-person (TPP) and first-person (FPP) perspectives are accessible to all players.
In Team Deathmatch mode, players depart from the core ‘last man standing’ concept of the battle royale genre and are grouped in fours. This means you and your team will face another group of four users to achieve the maximum kills within a 10-minute period.
Team Deathmatches may end sooner if one team reaches 40 kills first, typically occurring within 4-6 minutes unless playing ultra-defensively.
Aside from the new game mode, there’s a completely revamped map here. You can see it above, resembling Sanhok but with added elements like ramps and hiding spots. While not as small as Killhouse or Crash, it’s still a decent size. It may not be perfect, but it’s an interesting creation from PUBG Mobile.
If you prefer playing with friends over random users, you can use Room cards for uninterrupted private matches. This feature is especially useful for PUBG Mobile streamers who want to invite viewers to join them in Team Deathmatch.
Gameplay: Familiar Yet Refreshing!
The gameplay mirrors traditional Team Deathmatch, akin to Call of Duty’s format. PUBG Mobile adopts this mode, offering a distinct experience from its typical 100-player battle royale. I enjoy the immediacy of Team Deathmatch, engaging with enemies across the map.
In terms of weaponry, players spawn with a primary weapon (such as Scar-L or AKM) and ample ammunition. However, this initial loadout isn’t exhaustive. Respawn points at the map’s extremes feature an armory, offering an array of weapons, ammo, and attachments. Players can only carry two additional items.
In the map’s center, you’ll find the mighty M249. It provides the necessary firepower to charge into enemy territory. Frag grenades are also scattered along the way, offering additional firepower if desired.
Weapon mechanics remain unchanged, as are the guns, attachments, and other game elements. With familiar mechanics and readily accessible jump and crouch functions, I’ve been exploring away from the battle royale game today.
Upon respawning, you retain your last-used weapon and benefit from 5 seconds of invincibility, rendering enemies unable to harm you. This feature ensures you can defend your respawn point immediately after respawning.
Experienced PUBG Mobile players, especially those who favor Team Deathmatch mode, can achieve high kill counts and access the newly introduced MVP screen in this update. My regular teammates and I found great enjoyment and success in Team Deathmatch mode, securing numerous victories.
It’s fun and quick, with plenty of action from the moment you enter the match. No need to search for loot before fighting enemies; you can jump straight into the action.
