Even without prior exposure to the comic book rendition of Doctor Strange, Cumberbatch’s portrayal seamlessly embodies the all-powerful sorcerer. For aficionados of the comics, this casting decision resonates deeply.

In “Multiverse of Madness,” the film delves into the unresolved facets of Doctor Strange’s character, exploring the anguish he endures following the loss of his beloved while maintaining a facade of contentment. When it comes to terrific performances, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda stands unmatched. She has been an integral part of the Avengers and one of its most powerful members. However, her descent began when she had to kill Vision in Wanda Vision.

Subsequently, she acquired the Darkhold and became corrupted by it. The movie primarily focuses on Wanda’s attempts to utilize America Chavez’s powers to access an alternate universe where her dream children exist.

While her cause stems from maternal instinct, the execution is notably nefarious. Personally, I find Wanda’s corrupted portrayal in Doctor Strange 2 more captivating than her Avengers counterpart. Witnessing her unleash her full power reveals the extent of her restraint, which is rather intriguing.

3. Xochitl Gomez (America Chavez)

For those unfamiliar, America Chavez was a member of the Young Avengers in the comics. The MCU seems to be hinting at numerous Young Avengers characters, and I’m eager to see fresh additions from the studio. Marvel, it’s time to deliver.

In Doctor Strange 2, Chavez is hunted by Wanda for her powers to travel the Multiverse. Wanda plans to drain America of her powers to reach her kids in an alternate timeline, killing Chavez. Initially, Chavez cannot control her powers but later figures out how to, saving everyone from Wanda’s wrath.

4. Benedict Wong (Wong)

One of the most loved characters in the Doctor Strange universe is Wong. He reappears whenever there is an event regarding Doctor Strange, and I’m not complaining. Wong plays an integral part in the movies he’s in and provides good comic relief in serious conditions.

Doctor Strange 2 sees Wong as the Sorcerer Supreme, aiding Doctor Strange in safeguarding America Chavez from Wanda’s attempts to eliminate her and drain her powers.

5. Chiwetel Ejiofor (Baron Mordo)

Chiwetel Ejiofor, last seen in the initial Doctor Strange film, later appeared in Multiverse of Madness as a member of the Illuminati from an alternate reality, Earth-838. In this dimension, Doctor Strange’s use of the Darkhold resulted in significant damage, leading to his execution.

Following Strange’s demise, Mordo assumed control of the Sanctum, succeeding him. In Doctor Strange 2, he captures Strange and Chavez, intending to present them to the Illuminati.

6. Rachel McAdams (Dr. Christine Palmer)

Rachel McAdams portrays Christine Palmer, Doctor Strange’s love interest, who is engaged. Throughout the film, Strange outwardly expresses happiness, yet his true feelings are evident to the audience; he feigns contentment. Ultimately, in Doctor Strange 2’s conclusion, he reveals his emotions to the Christine from Earth-838, symbolizing his acceptance and inner peace.

7. Hayley Atwell (Captain Carter)

Marvel fans witnessed Captain Carter’s debut in What…if?, an animated series exploring alternative timelines within the vast Marvel universe. The primary gripe among viewers was the absence of a live-action portrayal, but Marvel delivered a surprise triumph by incorporating her into the ensemble cast of Doctor Strange 2.

Within the film, as Doctor Strange traversed Earth-838, the Illuminati assumed the role of Earth’s guardians instead of the Avengers, with Hayley Atwell assuming the mantle of Captain Carter in lieu of Captain America. Despite her limited screen time, her live-action appearance was a welcome sight.

8. John Krasinski (Reed Richards)

Marvel’s surprising move here was remarkable. They reintroduced the leader of the Fantastic 4, a team unheard of since 2015. Reed Richards, capable of incredible stretching and hailed as the planet’s smartest man, made an unexpected appearance. Strangely, John Krasinski’s portrayal of Reed Richards felt natural, as if he had embodied the character for years.My lone gripe is Marvel’s swift decision to kill him off almost immediately after his debut. His demise suggests that the forthcoming Marvel film, The Fantastic Four, will either cast a new Reed Richards or maintain continuity in this alternate timeline. Perhaps on Earth-616, he may still transform into Mr. Fantastic. The uncertainty is palpable.

9. Patrick Stewart (Professor Charles Xavier)

If showing us Professor X wasn’t emotional enough for Marvel, they had to include his ever-famous quote: “Just because someone stumbles and loses their way doesn’t mean they’re lost forever.” And if that wasn’t sufficient, they had to kill him off. Not fair, Marvel.

Professor Charles Xavier, a benchmark character from X-Men, resonates with us since childhood, shaping our perception of superhero movies. His appearance suggests the potential inclusion of mutants in future MCU projects. Yet, we need not lament his death, as it occurred in Earth-838, leaving the possibility that his Earth-616 counterpart still exists.

10. Anson Mount (Black Bolt)

Discussing superhero deaths, Black Bolt’s demise in Doctor Strange 2 stands out as particularly egregious. His power, his voice, was silenced by Wanda’s magic, culminating in the crushing of his skull. Marvel’s treatment of him seems unnecessarily harsh, especially considering his significance—he was the one who dispatched Doctor Strange in this universe. It’s hard not to feel that Black Bolt was substantially weakened in this portrayal. What are your thoughts?

However, even with cosmic powers, Captain Marvel proves no match for Wanda’s overwhelming strength, leading to her demise at Wanda’s hands.
