The RTX 4090 by NVIDIA stands as the world’s fastest graphics card, topping our gaming graphics cards list. Maxsun, a China-based AIB manufacturer, introduces a new RTX 4090 model with a five-fan design. Here are the details:
Maxsun Unveils RTX 4090 MGG Mega Gamer Edition GPU
Maxsun, a Chinese hardware manufacturer, offers GPUs along with other PC components like motherboards, SSDs, and RAM. Their latest GeForce RTX 4090 MGG OC 24G card features the Mega Free VC cooling system with 5x Air Boost fans. It includes a fully aluminum backplate and MCC RGB Ambient lighting, customizable for your preferences.
Clearly, this behemoth graphics card boasts five fans. Is that truly advantageous? For improved cooling, yes. But for noise reduction? Not quite. Our testbench featuring the Asus RTX 3070 Ti Strix edition, equipped with a triple fan setup, is already quite audible during gaming, with slight coil whining. This Maxsun RTX 4090 MGG graphics card will likely produce even higher noise levels.
However, not everyone minds the noise from their graphics card. For many, investing in an ultra-enthusiast category GPU like this one is costly, especially considering the even pricier liquid-cooled models. This behemoth GPU from Maxsun will surely appeal to air cooling enthusiasts due to its penta-fan design.
This Maxsun MGG graphics card features 3x 100mm fans in the front, with two additional smaller fans on the sides to provide additional cooling. Given the placement of these smaller fans, they probably help in exhausting heat away from the graphics card heatsink. In addition to the five-fan cooler design, it features a zero RPM mode to reduce noise when possible

Wondering how fast this 5-fan-equipped RTX 4090 graphics card is? Below are the boost frequencies compared of Nvidia’s founder’s edition model against the Maxsun MGG.

Nvidia RTX 4090 Founders Edition | 2520 MHz |
Comparison of Boost Clocks: Nvidia Founders Edition vs. Maxsun’s MGG Variants
Though not significantly faster, the presence of 5 fans aids in maintaining slightly lower temperatures under load. Consider that Nvidia’s top-of-the-line GPU can draw between 450 to 600 watts of power. Hence, additional cooling proves valuable in temperature management.
Comparing the sizes of both GPUs, the Maxsun MGG variant is about 10% longer than the standard FE, and 5mm thicker. Maxsun has clearly expanded the already massive RTX 4090. A visual design comparison (not perfectly to scale) between both variants is below:

The availability and pricing of this GPU are unknown for now. Maxsun exclusively sells graphics cards in the Chinese market, so this GPU is not expected to launch elsewhere. Explore Nvidia’s RTX 4090 and its latest advancements. Nonetheless, it’s intriguing to examine these bold graphics card cooler designs occasionally.
