Testing New Minecraft 1.19 Features Ahead of Release

With no official release date announced, anticipation surrounds the forthcoming Minecraft 1.19 update, celebrated for its array of confirmed features. Echoing the success of its predecessor, Minecraft 1.18, the Wild update promises to propel the game to greater heights. From revitalized biomes to fresh mobs like Allay and Warden, excitement abounds. Amidst this fervor, we offer the opportunity to install the Minecraft 1.19 beta and experience these enhancements firsthand. So, let’s explore!

Exploring Minecraft 1.19 Features Now (2022)

We’ll cover mods bringing the Wild update to your game and an official way to test some new Minecraft 1.19 features. These methods differ between Minecraft Java and Bedrock editions. If one method doesn’t suit your game, consult the table below. Let’s not delay; let’s get Minecraft 1.19 features now.

Get Minecraft 1.19 Beta Update on Windows, Xbox, and Android

Like recent updates, Minecraft 1.19 beta features are officially available for Bedrock Edition. If you’re using the Java edition, see the next section for available 1.19 beta update features.

If you have the Minecraft Bedrock edition on your Windows PC, follow our step-by-step guide to enroll for the Minecraft 1.19 beta update. First, install Minecraft for Windows, then the Xbox Insider app, and enroll for the beta. Afterward, you’ll receive the newest beta release. Find all instructions in the linked guide.

Additionally, we’ve included instructions to get the 1.19 beta on Xbox One and Android using the Minecraft Pocket Edition (MCPE) 1.19 beta. You can explore new features on console and mobile devices.

Explore The New Minecraft 1.19 Wild Update Features

Once installed the beta, explore various upcoming features in Minecraft 1.19 The Wild update. Let’s discuss each one. However, ensure your world mode is creative because only then can you spawn these items in your Minecraft world.

Frogs

One of the most exciting mobs in the Minecraft 1.19 update is frogs. To view them, search “spawn frog” in your creative inventory by pressing E or the inventory button. This action will lead you to the Spawn Frog egg, which you can place in your regular inventory at the bottom of the screen.

Once you acquire the egg, place it on the ground to spawn frogs in your world. Currently, Minecraft 1.19 features 3 variants of frogs: tropical white in hot biomes, green in cold biomes, and default orange in regular biomes. Below, you can see the appearance of the frog mob in each Minecraft 1.19 biome:

Froglights

Like frogs, froglights can be found in your creative inventory. However, crafting them in-game is more enjoyable. Froglights lack a specific crafting recipe; instead, they drop when a frog consumes a baby slime. Despite its oddity, it creates a visually entertaining experience. Additionally, there are three distinct froglights available, corresponding to the color of the frog that produces them. Discover how to obtain froglights in Minecraft 1.19 below:

Tadpoles & Eggs

The next addition from the Minecraft 1.19 beta update is the tadpoles mob. Unlike most in-game mobs, Minecraft doesn’t feature baby frogs. Instead, it introduces tadpoles, mirroring the real world. Frogs naturally lay frog eggs in water after mating. You can also place them manually in water using your creative inventory. Within around 15 in-game minutes, the eggs hatch, growing into tadpoles and eventually frogs.

Alternatively, the update includes tadpole spawn eggs for direct spawning in your world. Similar to other in-game fish, tadpoles can also be captured in a water bucket. You can find “tadpole in a bucket” in your creative inventory.

How to Access Minecraft 1.19 Features on Java Edition

Testing New Minecraft 1.19 Features Ahead of Release

To acquire Minecraft Java 1.19 features promptly, await the beta snapshots. Typically available 6-8 weeks prior to the official release, they offer early access. Even if the speculated April 2022 release holds true, the beta snapshots remain a few months away. Alternatively, opt for these mods to instantly access Minecraft 1.19 features, ensuring Forge installation for compatibility.

The Wild Update 1.19 Mod

Official Screenshot

This powerful Minecraft mod integrates all features announced in the 1.19 wild update into Minecraft 1.18. It introduces the swamps biome along with its mangrove variant, featuring frogs, fireflies, and tadpoles. Moreover, it introduces the deep dark, a feature absent even in the current Bedrock beta, complete with the blind Warden and functional AI.

The mod’s reliability is notable, with no known bugs or errors detected during our testing on a mediocre build, without encountering any in-game lag. If you’re eager to encounter the Warden, downloading this mod is the next step.

The Missing Villages Mod

Beyond the announced features, many players anticipate the addition of two missing villages: the jungle and swamp villages. Although these villages have villager models in the game, they do not spawn under any circumstances. We expect the Minecraft 1.19 Wild update to rectify this situation. However, this mod, while slightly dated, offers more.

It introduces swamp and jungle villages with unique biome-based features. Swamp huts are elevated to avoid contact with the swamp water, while jungle villages feature hay roofs and tree-like pillar-based structures. Overall, this mod enhances the game’s completeness.

Biomes O’ Plenty Mod

The final mod enabling Minecraft 1.19 features now is Biomes O’ Plenty. If you’ve used premier Minecraft mods, chances are you know this popular one. As the name implies, it enhances in-game biomes, aligning with the Wild update’s overarching theme. However, this mod takes it further.

Instead of solely enhancing existing biomes, it introduces various new wild biomes. Expect new plants, trees, blocks, and even nether dimension biomes. The original Minecraft 1.19 Wild update won’t match this mod’s diversity, giving you another reason to install it.
