Massive Leak Reveals Insomniac Games' Future Releases

Besides the Wolverine leak, a project release timeline for upcoming games by Insomniac Games has been published. This includes concept art for the next Ratchet and Clank game, set to launch in 2029. The roadmap also confirms recent leaks and lists Marvel’s Venom as a new game launching in 2025, with Wolverine following in 2026. Subsequently, a third Spider-Man game is expected in 2028 and an X-Men game in 2030.

Moreover, the Insomniac Games leak reveals employee HR information, Slack message screenshots, and more, exposing data on past, current, and prospective employees. Sony has yet to comment on the leak, but we are monitoring the situation closely and will update you on any developments.

Ransomware Group Affirms Involvement

According to Cyberdaily.au, Rhyside, a ransomware group, has claimed responsibility for this leak, extracting approximately 1.67TB of data, including 1.3 million files, from Sony PlayStation to extort money. The group demanded 50 Bitcoins (about $2 million) and released 98% of the data to the public, selling the remaining portion to a bidder.

The ransomware group asserts they were aware they targeted a game developer and obtained domain administrator rights within 20-25 minutes of hacking into the network. They argue that studios like these are easy targets, and the leak was primarily driven by financial gain.

Video game leaks cause distress for publishers, developers, and eager gamers. These leaks not only spoil games but also disrupt operations, leading to scrapped titles, development delays, and internal turmoil. Notable leaks from the last decade include Cyberpunk 2077, GTA 6, and now, Insomniac Games.

We anticipate official confirmation from Sony regarding the leak, especially given the timing during the holiday season. Additionally, our thoughts are with the affected employees at Insomniac Games, wishing them safety and well-being.
